For me, something might feel right but might end up being different upon analysis. But, if we say, "Which one would be less likely to be manipulated," I'd say, Leo. Medel: If we use the word incorruptible, I'd say all the Turtles are equal in that regard. All the Turtles are like that to an extent, and none of them are what I would describe as villainous at all, but yeah, Mikey. Mikey is the most likely to do what's right, even if there's fallout. He has the purest heart and is the least pragmatic of the Turtles when it comes to complex moral decisions. Which Turtle do you believe would be the most incorruptible to Bison and why?Īllor: Mikey. Of course, we can't answer whether the match-up or theory they have will happen to avoid spoilers, but it's raised some interesting ideas that I hadn't thought about! While the story will go in a totally different direction from straight-up tournament fights the whole way through with clear winners and losers, the readers will find it exciting, plausible for the characters involved, and fun to read.Īs the most aggressive of the Turtles, Raph always seems to be liked the most by villains who want him for their own nefarious purposes. But it's been really fun to see the theories and questions people bring up. I can't say I'm surprised by that because I think that's a big part of any passionate fandom for as long as fandom existed. Sarah Myer: I've been really happy to see the overall enthusiastic and positive fan response to the comic! One of the things I think is most interesting is the sheer number of match-ups between various TMNT and Street Fighter characters and speculation on comparative power levels that fans have had debates about for years. Some folks have even compared the fights to Dragon Ball Z, which makes me very happy! Additionally, people seem to be having a blast with the fun tone of the writing, all while enjoying the intense action. The feedback has been good, and I'm happy about it. Fortunately, it seems that mix resonated with fans. For the Fighters, I used the style from the Street Fighter 2 video game and the Street Fighter 2 movie. For the Turtles, I made a mix of the IDW comics look, the '90s cartoons, a hint of Simon Bisley. These characters have been portrayed in so many ways, and of course, I wanted to lean toward designs and aesthetics that would resonate with the fans. Every page of inks and every page of colors I see absolutely floors me, and it's been wonderful to see readers experiencing the same thing!Īriel Medel: When I was gonna start the project, I had some direction as to how the characters should be depicted however, there was a lot of room for my own interpretation. Paul Allor: I can tell you that my response as the art came in for this book has been, "Haha! Yeah! Okay!" The fan reaction has reflected that pretty well! I've had a ton of fun writing this book, but Ariel Medel and Sarah Myer are the absolute stars of the show here. What has surprised you the most in terms of the fans' response? CBR: The first issues are out in the world.
